Gen-X Tactical Vest Review: Great for every woodsballer
Need to carry a lot for those games when you're in the field for hours on end? The Gen X Deluxe Tactical Vest is constructed of heavy duty denier with a half inch thick foam interior to cushion the weight of your gear and serve double-duty as chest and back armor. There are velcro adjustments at the shoulders and waist to ensure a snug and proper fit for any body type. It holds up to 6 pods and a tank on the back, secured by velcro so you can customize their positions to your needs. Other features include multiple pockets, pull-down ID or map flap, detachable cell phone or radio pouch, and accessory rings. The Gen-X tactical vest proved worthy as it held everything you could ever need when you're out on the field for extended periods of time. Putting on the vest was comfortable and easy. I used the flip down front pocket for my wallet and keys and threw in an tools. I felt a lot better about being able to keep my cash and car keys with me in the front zipper pocket. Knowing I wouldn't lose them from falling out from my pants pockit was one less thing on my mind.
The vest has removable foam padding in the front and back. I took the front out to make it less harm because the the padding does hold in some of your body heat. It was a little hard to get the foam out but not too difacult just take it bit by bit. The foam does softens the sting of getting hit so I fet it on my back but for the front where there is so many pockits and my arms and marker will be in front usualy a hit will be on them not my chest. all the same this padded vest does offer some decent body protection.
I run a remote air line when I'm playing and the tank pouch was great and roomy, with a two straps to keep the tank in the pouch, then a strap to keep the pouch on the vest, then the full coverage of velcro to hold the pouch on the vest this pouch is not going anywhere! I kept my 100 round pods on the back in a angled vertical position. There is no problem with reaching any of the pods. The pouches come on velcro which gives you the option of rearranging them, I even have them at a angle pointing out a little. Switching the pods to a horizontal position fits, but they do hang over by a few inches which would be disapointing with larger 140 pods.
The radio pouch, place for grenades, and 12 gram Co2 cartridges place, are easily reachable. There is a pair of velcro strips on the bottom in the front to strap the vest to your belt for more stability from the weight of the pods full of paint and the tank on your back pulling the vest against your neck. There is also loops that you can put a D clip on to clip things too like your mask when off the field or other items.
I dont belive there is a gun holster that you can get for this vest, that is my only disapoinment. If your looking for a vest dont look anywhere else unless you really really want a gun holster on your vest. this vest has everything your looking for and the price cant be beat! I use this vest every game I play.
