Tippmann Introduces New Magazine for TPX Pistol

5/26/2010

Updated Seven-Ball Magazine Handles Wider Variety of Paint and Weather Conditions

FORT WAYNE, IN (May 26, 2010) – Effective immediately, all Tippmann TPX .68 Caliber Paintball Pistols, will come standard with a new Tru-Feed Straight Stack Magazine. The enhanced magazine, which holds seven paintballs instead of the traditional eight, is designed to optimize the TPX Pistol’s performance regardless of environmental conditions – such as temperature and humidity – or the type of paintballs being utilized.

“We’ve introduced the new magazine to help ensure that every TPX Paintball Pistol provides optimal performance right out of the box,” said Ron Goldblatt, director of marketing for Tippmann Sports. “Although there’s been a reduction of one paintball, players will find that the pistol’s increased flexibility and enhanced overall performance significantly outweigh the extra magazine capacity. That being said, any player who chooses to use the original magazine will still have access to it – we plan to continue offering the staggered eight-ball magazine as an accessory.”

In addition to coming standard with all new TPX Pistols, the enhanced seven-ball magazine will also be available as a two-pack accessory. The packaging for both the pistol and two-pack accessory will incorporate a TPX Tru-Feed logo, making it easy for consumers to recognize the new products.

Over the past year, the TPX Pistol has quickly become a favorite among paintball players of all skill levels. The affordability, realism and durability of the marker have helped spur interest in pistol-only and limited-shot games, and the TPX has also added a popular twist to traditional scenario games. To help promote the improved TPX Pistol in the coming months, Tippmann will be running more than 20 Pistol/Pump Challenges at scenario events throughout the world. To learn more about these opportunities, please visit www.tippmann.com and click into the Fields & Events section.

Some current TPX users may find that changing to the seven-ball magazine may not be the right solution because there have been other updates to the original TPX, which could also affect performance. If players are having any issues with their TPX Pistol, Tippmann encourages them to contact the company’s technical support team at 1-800-553-4831 or 1-260-749-6022. Tippmann will walk consumers through any changes needed, and will also repair or exchange any parts free-of-charge, including the seven-ball magazine.

For more than 20 years, Tippmann Sports has been dedicated to quality manufacturing and the pursuit of cutting-edge technology and design. The company serves the paintball industry from its headquarters and manufacturing facility in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Tippmann Sports’ complete line of paintball markers and related accessories can be found at paintball stores and fields as well as mass retail and sporting goods outlets throughout the world.

Update:

TPX TRU-FEED Magazine

Tippmann is pleased to announce a new magazine design for the TPX Pistol. The new Tru-Feed 7-Ball Magazine will now come standard with every TPX Pistol, uses a straight feed, low tension spring system that allows players to use a wider variety of paint, and is less affected by hot or humid conditions. Tippmann will continue offering the staggered 8-ball magazine as an accessory for those players that place importance on the additional capacity.  This change will be effective immediately. With many more players and teams now using the TPX Pistol as a standard sidearm, we expect that the wider paintball options and performance will further enhance the appeal of carrying a pistol when playing paintball.
